EAST FACADE

MARIA MALTA FAMILY HOUSE ANGOLA
"This family house is located in Lobito, Angola and it was the result of my ideas in accordance with a client’s preferred style.
It wasn’t easy to go throughout with many suggestions and ideas because the client already had a rigid and clear idea of what he wanted. Neither the less, I could add some appointments to the project and transformed it in a way that it changed dramatically since the first sketch that was presented to me at first. The house has two floors. The ground floor is where the commune areas are: an big open kitchen, a dining room, a small and a big living room, an entrance area with a big storage room, for coats and shoes, and a big porch to relax outside. The ground floor is a big and open space with a communicating kitchen with the outside space and interior of the house. Since the client wanted a big house, my main idea was to transform the ground floor into an open space.
On the upper floor, there are 4 private bedrooms that are more enclosed and protected. Every bedroom is an ensuite with big closets and balconies. The upper floor also have an open small office to the corridor separated with a shelf unit that divides the area but at the same time, allows the light to come through it."

MARIA ALVES FAMILY HOUSE ANGOLA
"This family house is located in Lobito, Angola and it was the result of my ideas in accordance with a client’s preferred style.
The house is a single floor house. Has an open kitchen to the dining and living room and three bedrooms: one ensuite and two single bedrooms with a shared bathroom. A big corridor full of closets and storage establish the division of the commune areas with the private ones. It´s a small house, but the main idea was to make it comfortable and practical to the new users. It’s kind of a small country house. It has two small houses attached to the main house for guests and a laundry and barbecue area in the garden."

"The house is located in the north side of S. Michael Island in the Azores. Since the microclimate of this farmland offers frequent wind and showers, the first design strategy was to block these winds with a wall, and offer diverse patios and covered courtyards to protect against rain. These patios and courtyards also open all living spaces to the natural green by glass walls, which receded from the exterior.
On the upper-floor, there are private rooms that are more enclosed and protected. The typology follows an almost classical Palladian and Scamozzi central plan design, with double height on living room, and then two lateral wings enclosing one the kitchen."

"The project focused on a duplex apartment on top of a building on the waterfront. As a basic premise, it was assumed the need to readjust your functional program, coupled with the desire to strengthen the relationship with the surrounding landscape.
The bays and porches are redefined in order to focus on the effect of scenic landscape and emphasize the transition / connection between interior and exterior. A circular staircase preexisting is reconfigured, showing its shape and portraying their sense of movement. Walls and ceilings are cut out or twist to indict pathways.
Wood, white and 'viroc' define the various areas of the house. The black glass encloses moments and offers in reflexes that generates the landscape reinterpreted. The sea and the horizon become ubiquitous throughout the house are framed by a window or briefly captured a reflex."

"The urban strategy is located in one of the city entrances and parallel to the avenue Sidónio Pais that leads to Boavista centre.
The strategy proposal is based on different paths, squares and green belts.
The urban concept is based on a fusion between the green areas and the residential, public services and office building development. There are six collective housing buildings, three of them as high-rise buildings and the other three as gallery building system.
The new street designed in the urban net allows the connection between the surrounding streets, defining a new commercial street front linked with the collective housing and public services and office/residential tower building.
The tower marks the city entrance from the Avenue Sidónio Pais to Boavista’s roundabout"
